Many fellow employees already enjoy the convenience of direct deposit of their payroll. With the support of the Penn College Education Association, in order to improve operating efficiencies, contain costs and help reduce the impact of operating costs on tuition, the college is implementing mandatory direct deposit of payroll for all full-time employees, effective with the Dec.

The Outdoor Adventure Club spent part of Saturday helping to maintain the Loyalsock Trail. Kyle Godfrey, club treasurer, arranged with local volunteers to acquire the tools needed and pinpoint areas where the 54-mile trail needed attention. OAC members hiked 2.5 miles of the trail with loppers and saws in hand, cutting back growth that had started to overtake the trail.

Two years ago, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team won a conference championship. Last year, it reached the championship game, but lost in the finals. On Sunday, it is seeking to return to the top.The Wildcats enter action at Rec Hall on Penn State's main campus in University Park as the top seed.

Two replica Viking sleds built by students at Minersville Area High School will be displayed for the public on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus from Nov. 6-21. Twenty-two Minersville Area High School students drafted and built the sleds during the 2005-06 school year as part of their senior project. They were led by project mentors Fred Lukus and Ned Eisenhuth.
