An antique truck water feature on Pennsylvania College of Technology’s main campus was recognized recently with an Honor Award by the Professional Grounds Management Society. The feature, which was designed and constructed outside College Avenue Labs by the college’s General Services staff in 2018, received the award in the Small Site category of the society’s 2023 Green Star Awards national competition.

The first floor of the Davie Jane Gilmour Center, typically abuzz with traffic to and from the student-centered offices on either side, briefly catered to a younger crowd on Halloween morning: a parade of trick-or-treaters from the Dunham Children's Learning Center. Dressed as different colors of Play-Doh, the groups moved from station to station, filling their bags with sweets donated by employees of various Penn College offices – many in costume and all having just as much fun as the kids!

Mason Chapman, added to the Penn College men's basketball roster last month through a partnership with Team Impact, joined his family, teammates and coach for Monday's broadcast of WBRE's "PA live!" In two segments taped in the NBC affiliate's Wilkes-Barre studio, the group talked about Mason's acceptance into the program – which pairs special-needs children with collegiate sports teams – and the Wildcats' recent observance of Blindness Awareness Month.

A Thursday open house, overlapping with continuation of People & Culture's Engagement Series, combined to better acquaint students and employees with Penn College Police. The events provided a well-organized presentation of community resources, including the West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission, Lycoming County Crisis Intervention Services, state Sen. Gene Yaw's office, the Student Government Association, the Williamsport bureaus of fire and police, and the city's Special Response Team.
