A free Financial Aid Information Night opportunity will be available for two local schools in January. College-bound students of all ages and their parents from South Williamsport Junior/Senior High School and Williamsport Area High School are invited to the combined event at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 12 in the South Williamsport Junior/Senior High School cafeteria.

After the semester and holiday break, Pennsylvania College of Technology athletes in two sports are ready to return this week. On Thursday, the men’s basketball team is in nonconference play at Alvernia University while, on Saturday, women’s basketball players see North Eastern Athletic Conference action at Gallaudet University.

Through the fall and early winter sports seasons, 11 Pennsylvania College of Technology participants were honored by the college as Athletes of the Week.

Ending the first semester, Pennsylvania College of Technology young men’s and women’s basketball teams are off to a combined 2-12 start and both are seeking continued growth with mostly North Eastern Athletic Conference games after the holidays.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented student achievement awards to its Fall 2016 graduates. A commencement ceremony was held Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. The award winners, their hometowns and academic majors are: President's Award, presented for leadership and service to the college: Caleb E. Cartmell, Honesdale, automotive technology.

Five Pennsylvania College of Technology nursing students recently traveled to Guatemala, where they experienced firsthand the cultural diversity of health care that they had read about in their textbooks. As part of a study abroad course, the students spent seven days at a medical clinic in the small community of Nueva Santa Rosa. They were accompanied by Christine B.

Students pursuing associate degrees in health information technology at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently held a seminar for other students in the major. The focus of the seminar was job hunting and career advice. The students, all in their final semester, determined the topic and schedule and invited five speakers, four who are graduates of Penn College’s health information majors.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students pursuing distinctively different career paths collaborated recently, learning from one another how to design homes that will be both beautiful and functional for anyone who might cross the threshold.
