Two residential construction textbooks authored by a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member were published recently by The Goodheart-Wilcox Co. Inc. Jack Jones, associate professor of building construction technology, wrote a new textbook: “Principles of Residential Construction: Essential Skills and Practices,” and authored the 14th edition of “Modern Carpentry.”
The late-season tests experienced by the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team may prove beneficial as it enters the United East playoffs on Wednesday. The Wildcats, seeded 12th, will travel to fifth-seeded St. Mary’s (Md.) College for a 6 p.m. tip-off. Penn College enters with records of 8-17 overall and 6-10 in the UE.
Pennsylvania College of Technology recently bestowed a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students on Elexus J. Dunkleberger, of Hughesville. Dunkleberger, who completed an associate degree in nursing from the college in December, was one of 15 nominees for the award following the Fall 2024 semester. She received nominations from two fellow students and from a family member of a patient she cared for during a clinical education experience.
Over 65 Penn College students engaged with 16 employers at the Human Services & Restorative Justice Internship and Job Expo. “Engaging with employers early and often helps students gain a clearer understanding of career possibilities and build meaningful professional connections," said Elizabeth E. Winder, associate professor of human services & restorative justice.
Penn College’s Fitness Center held a Student Member Appreciation Day. “We wanted to show our appreciation to students who regularly use the Fitness Center by rewarding them with some goodies,” said Gayle M.
