"From Idea to Reality: Developing a Global Product at Penn College" is the title of aLibrary Forum presentation to be offered Oct. 26 at the Roger and Peggy Madigan Library at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The program, which is free and open to the public, will be presented from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 200 (note location change) by C.

Kaitlin M. Shellenberger was announced as September's "Member of the Month" at Phi Beta Lambda'sOct. 10 meeting. Shellenberger, a pre-nursing major from Roaring Branch, regularly attends meetings and participates with fund-raisers and activities while handling her studies. Nine Penn College students, led by Cassie M. Pickens, Student Activities' assistant director for programming, took part in a community-service project at the Williamsport YWCA on Saturday afternoon. Despite more than a touch of fall in the air, the group rolled up its collective sleeves to repaint driveway and parking-lot lines, among other maintenance at the 815 W. Fourth St. facility.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Board of Directors on Thursday approved midyear budget adjustments, authorized "emeritus" status for a retired faculty member and approved the appointment of an alternate director to the Community Arts Center Board. The board approved budget adjustments for the Unrestricted Current and Plant Funds to reflect the Fall 2006 enrollment numbers.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will host more than 1,100 students from 30 high schools during Career Day on Oct. 20. The high school students will be given opportunities to tour parts of the college and to engage in hands-on activities related to various careers. All eight of Penn College's academic schools will be represented, with 50 faculty members offering workshops or talks.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology culinary arts alumnus and in-demand creator of buffet showpieces will return to campus in October to share his expertise with students and alumni as part of the college's William C. Butler Lecture Series.
