In action last week, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s soccer and tennis teams picked up their first wins of the season and the college’s highly successful softball coach announced her resignation.

Nineteen. That is a number that Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball players can erase from their minds after they snapped a two-season, 19-match loss streak Saturday to highlight the week’s action.

The last two of eight Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams are scheduled to start their seasons this week as golfers go Wednesday at the Keuka College Invitational and women’s tennis opens Saturday hosting Elizabethtown College on the Elm Park courts.

While the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s tennis team gears up for its opener this Saturday at Susquehanna University, five other fall sports teams saw their seasons begin last week and the college’s longtime archery coach resigned. Men’s tennis Hard-hitting and consistent. Those are two key components that should propel the Wildcats this season, according to head coach Jessica Bower.

Five of eight Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams start their seasons this week, and – despite a limited preseason – they are ready to go. Scheduled to open in non-North Eastern Athletic Conference action Friday, the women’s soccer team hosts King’s College at 7 p.m. at newly built UPMC Field, the men’s soccer team travels to Hood College for a 7 p.m.

A new-look athletic complex. Four new hall of fame members. A new coach coming in. Some new faces in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Those are among the changes in the wind for the 2019-20 athletic seasons at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

In its fifth season as a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference, and second as a full-fledged member of NCAA Division III, Pennsylvania College of Technology continued to show it belongs.

Not only will Pennsylvania College of Technology archers be shooting for national titles later this week in Dublin, Ohio, but a trip to the World University Games is also on the line. Competition in the U.S. National Outdoor Collegiate Championships will be held at Darree Fields Park.

While the Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team celebrates its record-setting season and second-place finish in the North Eastern Athletic Conference, the college’s baseball team is set to make a championship run starting at 3 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Wells College at Bowman Field.

Win the inning. That approach, and a focus on playing better defense, has lifted the Pennsylvania College of Technology softball team into this week’s North Eastern Athletic Conference postseason tournament. As the second seed in the South Division, the Wildcats will host third-seeded Penn State Abington at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Elm Park.
