Sami held her own and Emalie Marnati moved back to middle hitter, where she was able to spark a few points off of blocking in the remainder of the second set and continued that into the third. While Kylee Butz continued her role as the kills leader, Abbigale Mingus was a steady force all-around as the lineup changes were threatening to shake things up for our ladies,” coach Bambi Hawkins said afterward.

Softball coach moving on
After four seasons and four consecutive playoff appearances – three in the NEAC where her team finished second last spring – softball coach Jackie Klahold resigned her position to accept the head coaching role at Wilkes University.
Klahold was named the college’s first full-time softball coach in 2016 and in four seasons compiled a 76-70 overall record, 49-28 in the conference. She was named the NEAC North Division Coach of the Year in 2017 and guided her team to a program-record 24 wins this past season.
During her tenure, Klahold coached 17 All-NEAC selections and 14 NEAC Scholar-Athletes.
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Klahold also served as Penn College’s senior woman administrator and was the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee adviser. Klahold helped organize the college’s efforts in community service, which helped the school earn the NEAC Senior Woman Administrator’s Cup for the first time last year.
A national search is being conducted for her replacement.
