Graphic design students and alumni from Pennsylvania College of Technology netted 20 awards in the 2023-24 American Advertising Awards Competition presented by the Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. Penn College designs captured seven gold awards, eight silvers and five honorable mentions.
Via a webinar, students in Penn College’s physical therapist assistant program recently presented research posters to members of the Northcentral District of the American Physical Therapy Association Pennsylvania Chapter. Posters were created as part of the Rehabilitation course.

The Penn College community is getting a Rugby Club! The student organization was officially approved this spring by the Student Government Association and the Office of Student Engagement. Students and employees are encouraged to keep tabs on this exciting initiative when it kicks off its first full academic year in the fall.
Several students in Penn College’s human services & restorative justice major provided volunteer support recently to the Union County Giving Closet. The Penn College team pitched in to bag clothing, toys, books and other items donated following the Common Threads Consignment Sale. The items will help the Union County Giving Closet support local families in need.
Exploring the creative journeys and promising career paths of eight graduating seniors in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s graphic design major, a reception was held April 26 for the Graphic Design Student Portfolio Exhibition. The exhibit runs through Friday, May 3, in the gallery located on the third floor of The Madigan Library. The remaining day’s hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
After splitting four regular-season softball games with Penn State Harrisburg and Penn State Berks, going 3-1 against Lancaster Bible College and 4-0 against Penn State Abington, it’s easy to understand why Pennsylvania College of Technology coach Angela Stackhouse says of the United East Volt Division playoffs, “it is anybody’s game.” The second-seeded Wildcats open the double-elimination tournament at noon on Friday against third-seeded Penn State Berks.
Throughout its 19-year history, Pennsylvania College of Technology’s team has crisscrossed the country to compete at Baja SAE. This year, they only must travel a dozen miles from campus to test their skills, a reality that should aid last-minute preparations for the international event. Penn College is hosting Baja SAE for the first time, May 16-19, at its Heavy Equipment Operations Site in Brady Township.
Over 650 students descended on Capitol Eatery in Dauphin Hall last week to partake in a favorite Penn College campus tradition – Midnight Breakfast. Dining Services also presented other tasty delights leading up to finals and free study-break treats. Navigating the end-of-academic-year pressures never tasted so good!
