A new Pennsylvania College of Technology facility dedicated to helping students, alumni and industry partners transform tomorrow is earning high marks today from its first group of visitors. The Center for Career Design introduced its variety of free resources and offered one-on-one assistance to students majoring in physician assistant studies.

The Center for Career Design at Pennsylvania College of Technology is earning high marks from visitors. Physician assistant students were among the first to use the center's free resources for all things career-related.

On the final day of last semester's Diagnostics & Procedural Practices course, physician assistant studies students were given a special assignment: Give away a grocery store gift card. "The rules were simple," physician assistant instructor Heather S. Dorman explained.

Local businesses can learn about creating and marketing a brand – and get to know Penn College in the process – during a virtual workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. First in a planned series of community events covering a variety of topics, the session features Tammy M. Rich, associate professor of business administration/management/event management, and several of her students.

Nearly two dozen students from Pennsylvania College of Technology jump-started their careers by securing a key industry certification related to computer-aided design. The 22 students – representing six majors from the School of Engineering Technologies – passed the SolidWorks Certified Associate exam and obtained SolidWorks CSWA Certification.

Off campus, it goes by even faster for him – 89 mph to be precise. During the week, McCray earns stellar grades, tutors fellow engineering design students and aids the college community.
