Beaver, an intermediate manufacturing engineer for the Harley-Davidson Motor Co. in York, has been chosen as an "Emerging Leader" among the 130 recipients of this year's STEP Ahead Awards from The Manufacturing Institute. This is the 10th year for the peer-nominated awards, which honor women for their contributions and impact in both manufacturing and their communities.

Twenty-eight Pennsylvania College of Technology students were awarded certifications from the Innovation Engineering Institute during a Feb. 15 ceremony on campus. The institute, part of Eureka! Ranch, awards both a Blue Belt and a Black Belt in Innovation Engineering, and the expectation set for those who receive the credentials is high, Eureka!
A first-year student at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a Viasat Technology/Maintenance Scholarship from Women in Corporate Aviation. The $1,000 award to Alicia Martinez, an aviation maintenance technology major from Allentown, was presented at the National Business Aviation Association’s recent Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas.

For two years, Lauryn A. Stauffer has seen only male faces in her electronics classes at Pennsylvania College of Technology. This fall, she’ll at least see multiple women leaders within the School of Engineering Technologies.
Suzanne Mayberry wants to connect her high school students with manufacturing. Thanks to Pennsylvania College of Technology, she has more tools to accomplish that goal. Penn College recently hosted a Manufacturing Externship Camp for Mayberry and 16 other secondary school teachers and guidance counselors throughout the state.
