William Ma, professor of mathematics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, wrote a paper that was published recently in the book "Quasiconformal Mappings and their Applications." The book contains 13 main lectures from the International Workshop on Quasiconformal Mappings and their Applications, held Dec. 27, 2005, to Jan. 1, 2006, at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India.
William Ma, professor of mathematics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently had a research paper "Euclidean Properties of Hyperbolic Polar Coordinates" published in an international, peer-reviewed journal. Ma's paper appears in Computational Methods and Function Theory, Volume 6, 2006. The journal, which publishes original research papers in complex analysis, is issued annually.
Nancy C. Bowers, associate professor of mathematics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be honored for the second consecutive year in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers." Bowers' biography will be printed in the 10th edition of the book, to be published later this year, and also appeared in the book's ninth edition.
The Master Teacher Award, the highest level of recognition given to a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member, was presented Saturday to Jeffrey B. Weaver, assistant professor of electronics in the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies at the college. Weaver received the award during commencement ceremonies at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.
An international mathematics journal recently published a paper written by William Ma, an associate professor of mathematics at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Ma's paper, "Estimates for conformal metric ratios," was published in Computational Methods and Function Theory, Volume 5.
