On Wednesday, Penn College hosted Step 2 of the Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy’s “Dream Learn Pitch” competition for K-12 students. “The goal today is we’re helping all the students develop their business plan,” said Eric Attinger, chief communications officer for Penn CFL.

Dressed in neon T-shirts that suitably represented the bright career possibilities across the expansive construction industry, more than 1,000 students and chaperones from regional high schools and career and technical education centers converged on main campus Thursday for PA Build My Future – an interactive showcase of limitless potential.

As part of a PAsmart “Advancing K-12 Computer Science & STEM Education” grant received by Pennsylvania College of Technology from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, 24 middle school educators recently convened on campus for a weeklong hands-on externship.

Teachers became students May 9-10, when Penn College’s welding faculty hosted its second Welding Teacher Training program, a seminar that provided educators in high schools and career and technical education centers with an opportunity to immerse in hands-on learning in the college’s Lycoming Engines Metal Trades Center.

More than 500 students enrolled in Penn College Dual Enrollment made visits to campus during the spring semester, immersing in a wide variety of majors, courtesy of college faculty.

With eyes on the sky and a wide range of career options, Pennsylvania College of Technology’s emergency management & homeland security major staged its inaugural Wildcat Rotorfest on April 11.
