As a middle schooler, Gage L. Romanoskie earned three Scout Badges at Pennsylvania College of Technology. About seven years after being introduced to the campus through the Merit Badge College initiative, Romanoskie is seeking a bachelor’s degree in building automation engineering technology. The next Merit Badge College will be held Feb. 15 and is offered in partnership with the Susquehanna Council, Boy Scouts of America.

More than 100 middle and high school students and teachers from throughout the state learned valuable lessons during the recent Cyber Challenge Day at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Part of the GenCyber program, an initiative supported by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation, the informative event rotated students through four interactive workshops, covering basic cyber skills. Students spent a portion of each session testing their knowledge.

Envisioning their lives after high school, special education students in grades 10-12 attended the annual Transition Conference, hosted recently by Pennsylvania College of Technology and BLaST Intermediate Unit 17. The event attracted more than 340 registrants from 19 area school districts in Bradford, Clinton, Lycoming, Sullivan and Tioga counties.

More than 700 students from 20 area high schools and career and technology education centers attended Penn College’s fifth PA Build My Future event on Thursday to discover what a career in the construction industry might look like. Faculty and students in Penn College’s construction and architecture division were joined by 25 industry partners to provide hands-on demonstrations and activities.

A win-win weekend it was when 647 young cyclists, their families and fans rolled onto Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center for a state competition hosted by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League Sept. 7-8. After tackling miles of challenging, mountainside terrain, the youngsters rode off with memories, medals and Penn College swag.

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League has announced its newest state event venue at Pennsylvania College of Technology's Schneebeli Earth Science Center. Featuring 400-plus acres of scenic surroundings, the site will host PICL's Sept. 7-8 competition that brings together student-athletes from across the state to compete in a dynamic showcase of endurance, skill and sportsmanship.

The full episode of Project MFG's "Maritime Welding Nationals – Season 1" has been released, showcasing the talents of 16 young finalists from across the U.S. and spotlighting the host facility – Pennsylvania College of Technology’s 55,000-square-foot welding lab. Among those featured in the 13-minute episode are two Penn College welding faculty members: James N. Colton II and Timothy S. Turnbach.

The trailer for “Project MFG’s Maritime Welding Nationals” is out, promoting the episode’s Friday night premiere. Pennsylvania College of Technology’s expansive welding facility and its Thompson Professional Development Center hosted the competition in June. Project MFG is an advocacy group focused on accelerating the workforce pipeline by informing future generations of the vast career opportunities within the skilled trades industry.

The full episode for “Clash of Trades: Welding League Edition Season 2” has been released, featuring the host facility – Pennsylvania College of Technology’s 55,000-square-foot welding lab. Project MFG’s National Welding League Championship was filmed at Penn College in June, bringing to campus 18 competitors from 14 U.S. high schools and trade schools (285 competitors from 101 schools competed in the national qualifying events).
