Joseph J. Balduino has been appointed director of recruitment at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Before joining the Penn College staff, Balduino served as assistant director of admissions at Lycoming College. In his new position at Penn College, he directs the annual recruiting plan and supervises admissions representatives and related staff.

The Medical Imaging Club and Penn College's Human Resources/Employee Relations Office are the first-place winners among student groups and campus departments in this season's holiday card-decorating contest. Results were announced by President Davie Jane Gilmour during a lighting ceremony outside the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center on a blustery Wednesday evening.

Bradley M. Webb has been appointed director of student affairs administration at Pennsylvania College of Technology. In the position, Webb is responsible for connecting many of the functions of Student Affairs to the Penn College student body. He'll be tasked with initiating programs and services in such diverse areas as parents initiatives, assessment and community involvement.

An associate professor of business administration at Pennsylvania College of Technology was among the presenters at the 72nd International Atlantic Economic Conference recently held in Washington, D.C. Gerald D.

An English-composition professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology was recently named the nonfiction editor for Aethlon: The Journal of Sport Literature. Mark D. Noe, a longtime Aethlon editorial board member, will begin his duties as editor with the journal's 28th volume. Aethlon is designed to celebrate the intersection of literature with the world of play, games and sport.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Chess Club has gone international, beginning an online competitionwith a team from Dubai Women's College . "We created a group on chess.com for our chess club, so we could meet and play games online against each other," explained Jim Cunningham, the college's vice president for information technology and the club co-adviser.

The Williamsport Civic Chorus will hold its first concert of the season at 3 p.m. Sunday in the nave of St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St. The concert will feature "The World Beloved," a mass with traditional portions but with bluegrass accompaniment.
