Penn College students, faculty among conference attendees Five students and two professors recently traveled to Indianapolis to attend the COMMON 2014 Fall Conference and Expo, sponsored by the world's largest professional association of IBM technology users.

On this Veterans Day,  PCToday salutes the Pennsylvania College of Technology students, faculty, staff and alumni who have served (or continue to serve) their country. Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member Craig A. Miller will present the concluding lecture in the college’s Centennial Colloquia Series on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. Miller, an assistant professor of history/political science, will offer a talk titled “Technology, Power and Responsibility” in the college’s Klump Academic Center Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public.

A paper by Chip D. Baumgardner, associate professor of business administration/management at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was selected for publication in an international conference journal. Baumgardner presented his paper, “Using Cooperative Learning in the Changing Environment of Education,” at the 25th International Conference on College Teaching and Learning in Florida.

While Veterans Day (Nov. 11) provides an annual salute to the countless individuals who have served in the U.S. armed forces, veterans’ advocacy is a daily priority at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Four active and former military personnel who provide assistance to their fellow veterans at the college’s Financial Aid Office personify that priority.

Back-to-back Halloween events provided family-friendly fun Wednesday night, beginning with the fifth annual Trick or Treat Night at the Village at Penn College. Residents of the on-campus housing complex went all-out for the younger children of students, employees and alumni, handing out goodies in a safe, controlled environment.
