The transformative impact of giving was celebrated at Pennsylvania College of Technology's annual Donor Recognition Reception, held Monday evening in the lobby of the Davie Jane Gilmour Center. The gathering honors the alumni, corporate partners, employees, parents and friends whose contributions empower tomorrow's workforce.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Construction Management Association was named Student Chapter of the Year during the Associated Builders and Contractors Convention, held March 13-15 in Orlando, Florida. The ABC Student Chapter of the Year award recognizes an outstanding chapter for its accomplishments in programming, community service, communications/public relations, and interaction with its sponsoring ABC Chapter.

The Introduction to Corrections (HSJ 215) class at Penn College recently received a real-world glimpse into the corrections system, courtesy of Allyson Davenport, a drug and alcohol treatment specialist II at the State Correctional Institution at Muncy. Specifically, Davenport shared information on the facility's Therapeutic Community.

“Graphic Design 2024” opens April 24 at The Gallery at Penn College and runs through May 3. The annual student portfolio exhibition showcases the work of graduating seniors in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s graphic design major. A reception honoring the students is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 26.

Nine Pennsylvania College of Technology students and one faculty member were recently inducted into Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the first and only international honor society for the computing and information disciplines. This mission of UPE is to recognize academic excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels, promote the computing and information disciplines, and encourage their contribution to the enhancement of knowledge. 

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences Diversity Taskforce, in collaboration with Nate Woods Jr., special assistant to the president for inclusion transformation, recently hosted a “Lunch & Learn” to explore LGBTQ+ issues in health care.

With "ease and grace," the latest episode of the Tomorrow Makers podcast delves into "Authenticity & Self Care" with Tanya Berfield, director of student advocacy and Title IX coordinator. Tanya shares the perspectives that drive her work at Penn College and her personal engagement as an empowerment coach. She also offers practical tips on a range of topics, including mindfulness, emotional intelligence and healthy boundaries.

The second annual Rotorfest, hosted Tuesday by Pennsylvania College of Technology’s emergency management & homeland security major, is in the spotlight with a WNEP-TV report. The ABC affiliate’s multi-skilled journalist Mackenzie Aucker interviewed instructor William A. Schlosser and student Christina L. Smith for the story.

The 48th annual National Collegiate Landscape Competition proved to be fertile territory for the talents of Pennsylvania College of Technology students enrolled in landscape/plant production technology. At the powerhouse event held in Provo, Utah, Penn College placed 16th overall among 50 schools and achieved eight top-10 finishes in various categories. One student was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

Eleven Penn College academic programs opened their doors to about 200 dual-enrolled students – taking Penn College courses at their local high school or career and technical education center. The Penn College Dual Enrollment students hailed from 12 secondary schools that stretched from Chester County in the southeast corner of the state to Warren County in the northwest.
