Human services students at Pennsylvania College of Technology are inviting the campus community and the public to attend “PCT HOPE,” a unique opioid awareness event to be held Saturday, Nov. 10, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in Penn’s Inn on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center.

The Community Arts Center, Lycoming College and Saint John's School of the Arts will again present the holiday classic, "The Nutcracker," this season. More than 200 artists of all ages will comprise the totally homegrown talent for the production. The cast will include 112 dancers, age 4 to adult, and live music by Lycoming College students and local musicians.

The power of printmaking and an artist’s interpretation of the American story will be on display with “American Epic,” Oct. 25 through Dec. 12, in The Gallery at Penn College. Jesse Shaw, assistant professor of art at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas, has been laboring on his American Epic print series for 10 years, and, so far, 29 pieces of the planned 50 have been completed.

Approximately 600 students from high schools across the state attended Career Day on Thursday, trying their hands at Penn College’s “degrees that work.” Faculty, staff and several students, giving up time from the Fall Break, provided 34 options for tours, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Penn College's Bachelor of Science Nursing Honor Society, in collaboration with UPMC Susquehanna and the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, recently hosted a “Sip and Snap” event for young nursing professionals at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant.

​PA Build My Future – coordinated by Penn College's Building Construction Technology Department, College Transitions, and the School of Construction & Design Technologies – hosted approximately 800 secondary students and their chaperones on campus Thursday.

Students looking for a bold next step in their educational journey are encouraged to attend an Oct. 28 Open House at Pennsylvania College of Technology, where “future made by hand” is a template for success. “Visiting a college campus should be an experience. At Open House, students are able to touch, see and explore their future,” said Claire Z. Biggs, assistant director of admissions.

Through a variety of activities this past week, Penn College's nationally accredited Dunham Children's Learning Center celebrated the services and support it offers to youngsters, families and the campus community.
