Continuing what quickly has become a winter tradition, Pennsylvania College of Technology hosted a variety of well-attended activities at the 2010 Pennsylvania Farm Show (Jan. 9-16) in Harrisburg.

Malikah Shabazz, the youngest daughter of Malcolm X, will speak at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Jan. 18. In the program, which begins at 6 p.m. in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium, Shabazz will present "Dr. King's Message." Sponsored by the Cultural Life Committee at Penn College, the event is free and open to the public.

With Spring 2010 classes just around the corner, Pennsylvania College of Technology greatly eased the start-up process for more than 150 new and transferring students. Joined by their families for the opening of Welcome Weekend on Jan.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "Cipher," a collection of ceramic works by Shalya Marsh, from Jan. 9 to Feb 9. Marsh's work, through the use of decipherable codes and symbols, expresses the intrinsic limitation that language places on communication.

Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Winter Commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. The student speaker was Micah A. A group of Pennsylvania College of Technology students helped to raise $3,000 for the world's poor through a recent fair-trade craft sale. Students pursuing bachelor's degrees in applied human services organized and staffed an on-campus sale of handmade goods from around the world through an organization known as Ten Thousand Villages.
