The Fall 2001 CoffeeHouse Series is under way at Pennsylvania College of Technology, with four more musical performers scheduled through November. Pennsylvania College of Technology has been chosen to receive a Governor's Highway Safety Award for the efforts made by the Penn College and Community Coalition to prevent alcohol abuse and underage drinking by students. The College was selected to receive its award in the "Alcohol Highway Safety" category.
A group of nine students from the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology will use farm-fresh produce to conduct informal cooking demonstrations when they visit the Williamsport Outdoor Growers Market on Saturday, Sept. 8. Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus will serve as a regional host site for the statewide Pennsylvania Rural Development Council videoconference on Leadership Development on Friday, Sept. 14. The conference will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the videoconferencing center at the North Campus, located on Route 6 east of Wellsboro.

Carl Brashear, whose inspiring life story was recounted in the recent Bill Cosby-produced film, "Men of Honor," will speak at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Tuesday, Sept. 25, as part of the Fall 2001 Lecture Series, which begins Aug. 28. Brashear, who was portrayed by actor Cuba Gooding Jr.
