A campus tradition since 2009, the Student Government Association’s annual Silent Auction is set for noon to 4 p.m., Friday, March 21, with online bidding through BidPal One. Beginning Thursday, auction items can be viewed via the online site, and they can also be seen in-person in the Bush Campus Center lobby beginning at noon on Friday. (Interested bidders can also text SGA2025 to 243725 to register.)
The fundraiser is SGA’s signature event to raise funds for the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship.
The auction features gift baskets, hand-crafted items, gift certificates and various experiences, donated by college and community supporters.
“The SGA Silent Auction is a cherished tradition that brings our campus and community together to support the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship,” said SGA President Hayden D. Lester, a business administration student. “This event not only highlights the generosity of our donors but also directly impacts the lives of our students by helping to fund their educational journeys. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support and look forward to another successful year!”
SGA’s Student Leader Legacy Fund was able to award three $1,200 scholarships last year. Selection criteria for the scholarship encourages student leadership, and preference is given to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 GPA who have demonstrated previous leadership and volunteer service not only at Penn College but in surrounding communities.
The college community and wider community are encouraged to support this worthwhile endeavor.
