Wednesday, June 1, 2022

Boalsburg residents Thomas C. and Rhonda R. Miller have created an endowed scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology to benefit students in the college’s automated manufacturing & machining and welding & metal fabrication programs.

Preference for the Thomas C. and Rhonda R. Miller Scholarship will be given to Penn College students who are enrolled full time; are Pennsylvania residents, with first preference to northcentral Pennsylvania; are enrolled in automated manufacturing & machining or welding & metal fabrication majors; and have successfully completed two semesters.

Awards from the scholarship will be renewable as long as the recipients maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

The couple has followed the success of Penn College and its impact on the Pennsylvania economy and beyond. They strongly believe in Penn College’s mission and the future of applied technology education. They are pleased to be able to extend their support through an endowed scholarship, which will provide help to students pursuing their career goals.

“It has been a pleasure getting to know Tom and Rhonda. They are steadfast in their belief in hands-on education and how it prepares students for successful careers that are essential to Pennsylvania and our nation,” said Loni N. Kline, vice president for college relations/chief philanthropy officer. “We are extremely grateful for their trust in Penn College, and we will put their gift to great use by investing in our students.”

The Millers also believe in the community good that is created by volunteerism, and they seek to actively help Penn College students through volunteer activities on campus.

The college looks forward to putting the couple’s educational and professional backgrounds to great use through its Center for Career Design, engaging them in opportunities such as mock interviews, resume reviews and more.
