Alumni Couple Employed at Penn College Establishes Scholarship
Tuesday, September 10, 2013
A married couple who are both alumni and employees of Pennsylvania College of Technology recently created a scholarship benefiting students from Clinton County.
The Ron and Tina Miller Scholarship will benefit Clinton County residents who are enrolled full time in a bachelor-degree major at Penn College. The scholarship also focuses on financial need.
Ron Miller, director of computing and audio/visual services, and Tina Miller, director of marketing communications, are both graduates of the institution. Ron graduated in 1989 with a degree in computer information systems and has worked at the college since 1990. Tina earned a degree in technology management in 2003 and has been employed at the college since 1996.
The first award from the scholarship, which was established as part of the Penn College Scholarship Campaign, will be made in Fall 2013.
“Penn College has been very kind to us,” Tina Miller said. “Establishing a scholarship is our way to show our appreciation to the college while supporting students from our community.”
“Ron and Tina have such a rich history with the college, it is fitting that there now is a scholarship in their name,” said Robb Dietrich, executive director of the Penn College Foundation. “Their appreciation for all that they have received from the college and their willingness to ‘pay it forward’ so that others can have the opportunities they have had is an example for us all.”
