Champion Conducts Clinic as Returning Pro for Scholarship Tourney
Monday, June 24, 2013
Seven-time PGA Tour victor Joey Sindelar returned to the Williamsport Area Country Club as visiting pro for Monday's 27th annual Penn College Foundation Golf Classic, showing off his winning form during a morning clinic on the 18th hole. Players and sponsor guests watched as the Horseheads, N.Y., pro – who was also on hand for the 2009 tournament – demonstrated his "short game" prior to a luncheon and the noon start of play. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s Golf Classic Endowed Scholarship Fund, from which $46,000 in scholarships will be awarded this year. Since 1990, financial assistance to Penn College students from that fund has topped $486,000.
