Homecoming Balloting to Help Fund Scholarships, Benefit Charity

Monday, October 8, 2012

Ten students representing six campus organizations have been voted onto the 2012 Penn College Homecoming court, with balloting continuing this week to determine who is designated as the ultimate royalty. The top five male and female students have advanced from an original field of 41 on the basis of donations to their respective canisters at the Bush Campus Center information desk. The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime of  Saturday's Wildcat women's soccer game. For the first time, Penn College employees are soliciting donations in a related faculty/staff competition. The highest two vote-getters among the six faculty/staff contenders will also be announced then.

The students and their affiliated organizations are: Michelle C. Markardt, Early Educators; Jason A. Perch, Residence Hall Association; Maggie K. Calkins and Kyle S. Mullin, Sigma Nu; Kathrine E. Dixon and Jeremy L. Thorne, Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association; Ashley G. Maietta and Tyler J. Durham, Student Government Association; Rebecca R. Miller and Adam C. Swan, Students Making a Contribution.

Faculty/staff contestants are Emily B. Miller, instructor of fitness and lifetime sports/physical fitness; Shannon L. Skaluba, Student Activities information center assistant; and Kas A. Williams, Residence Life coordinator; Jason K. Eichensehr, Dining Services manager; and Matthew C. Helf and Christopher G. Lemasters, Residence Life coordinators.

Contributions to student candidates will go toward the winners' chosen charity; donations to employee candidates will be used for student scholarships.
