A member of the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation Board of Directors and his wife have created a scholarship at the college.

Ray Mattie, a 1984 alumnus, and his wife, Michelle, established the Mattie Family Scholarship at Penn College. The scholarship will benefit students from Lycoming County enrolled in the final year of the occupational therapy assistant or early childhood education associate-degree majors.

Ray Mattie is the owner of M&S Conversion Co. Inc., Montoursville. He and his wife have two boys, Connor and Sam.

“Shelly and I have been very blessed in both business and life,” Ray Mattie said. “We feel very strongly about giving back to the community, and being able to assist those students pursuing a career working with children holds a special place in our hearts.”

“Ray is a great example of one of our alumni getting involved with giving back to the institution, both through the time he commits to the Foundation Board of Directors and his financial support,” said Robb Dietrich, foundation executive director. “We are extremely grateful to both Ray and Michelle for their generosity in establishing this scholarship.”
