The Institutional Advancement Office alerts students to seven scholarships available for the Spring 2008 semester. Eligible Penn College students are invited to apply no later than Dec.1 for the following:
Bruce R. Borgenson Plastics Technology ScholarshipMajor: Plasticsand Polymer Engineering Technology
Criteria:
- Enrolled full time, in the second year or greater, in the plastics and polymer engineering technology bachelor-degree program
- Demonstrate leadership and service to the Penn College plastics program and the plastics industry in general
Major: Any major in School of Hospitality
Criteria:
- First- or second-year student
- Cumulativegrade-point average of 3.0 or above
- Applied forand eligible for financial aid
Major: Any major in School of Constructionand Design Technologies
Criteria:
- Resident of Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder or Union counties
- Completed one full year or completed 33 credits at Penn College and currently enrolled full time
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Recipient selected by Central Susquehanna Builders Association
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident status
Major: Ornamental Horticulture
Criteria:
- Demonstrates financial need
- Enrolled full time
- Preference given to a graduate of a high school in North Central Pennsylvania who is a resident of North Central Pennsylvania
Major: Foodand Hospitality Management or Culinary Art
Criteria:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better
- Has completed or is in the process of completing at least 28 credit hours
- Demonstrates commitment to excellence in laboratory and theory
- Displays enthusiastic support of the School of Hospitality, the college and the hospitality industry
- Applied for and eligible for financial aid
Louis A. Miele Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Major: Foodand Hospitality Management
Criteria:
- Fourth-semester student
- Applied for and eligible for financial aid
Major: Nursing
Criteria:
- Enrolled full or part time
- Enrolled in the associate- or bachelor-degree nursing major
