Message from the Club

After 25-plus years of combined efforts from many students and alumni, with the support of our corporate partners, the Penn College Drag Truck, "Accelerated Learning" has achieved its major goal of roaring down the Strip at 100 mph! This past academic year the club has made numerous visits to Beaver Springs Dragway and Numidia Dragway. After changing the rear end ratio to a 3.08 rear end with a locker and tuning the ECM to 869-wheel horsepower at 8018 ft/lbs of wheel torque the Mack ran its fastest pass on April 26th. Jake Spinosa was able to put the pedal down and run 14.17s at 103.2 mph. It is now onto its second goal of running below a 14-second pass.

Before we race, we are tuning the ECM and rebuilding the intake and exhaust piping. The turbochargers build over 90 psi of boost on the drag strip, but normal boots cannot hold the pressure. Our fix is stainless steel piping with high-pressure V-band Clamps. We also want to rebuild the exhaust system from scratch while using a similar design to smooth out many of the sharp turns and fix all the leaks. Sadly, this is very expensive, and the club cannot fully fund the fix. We humbly ask for your support to help us professionally present the Mack Truck at national competitions.

We invite your support this year!

Our People

"Motorama, an annual motorsports extravaganza held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, has been a great experience. I had the privilege of talking to alumni who come by our booth and high school students who are interested in the diesel programs. With more than 5,000 participants and 50,000 motorsport spectators, there was plenty of networking to do."
