Center for Business and Workforce Development

The Center for Business and Workforce Development is a 31,800 sq ft state-of-the-art facility hosting a wide array of open enrollment and customized training classes. Topics such as leadership, industrial, computer and safety, among many others, are available to companies and individuals. The Center features industrial labs, computer labs, spacious classrooms, and two conference rooms.

Penn College ready to empower at Farm Show

“Powering Pennsylvania” is the theme for the 109th Pennsylvania Farm Show, and Pennsylvania College of Technology will be in attendance, sharing its empowering possibilities. Set for Jan. 4-11 at the Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, the largest indoor agricultural event in the country attracts hundreds of vendors and thousands of exhibitors showcasing their skills. The show welcomes farmers, families and food lovers. Admission is free.

Workforce Development achieves busy networking semester

The business and industry professionals in Penn College’s Workforce Development are finalizing a full fall semester of networking and promoting their many services and program areas. Team members have engaged in a number of events, including Schaedler Yesco’s Tech School Expo in Pittsburgh, the MANTEC Smart Manufacturing Conference in York, Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center’s Manufacturing Day in Wilkes-Barre, and the Manufacturers’ Association Expo in York.

Bus mechanic apprenticeship being developed at Penn College

Pennsylvania College of Technology has been awarded a $600,000 grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry to develop a new sector apprenticeship in transportation. The apprenticeship will train bus mechanics, addressing the shortage of skilled bus service technicians and ensuring the consistent operation of public transit in urban and rural areas across the commonwealth.
