Proving business conferences can be fun, Workforce Development staffers Kathy L. Wentzler and Adam J. Yoder enjoy an energetic photo op at the MANTEC Smart Manufacturing Conference, held recently in York. Wentzler is a training specialist, and Yoder is an industrial training specialist.

The business and industry professionals in Penn College’s Workforce Development are finalizing a full fall semester of networking and promoting their many services and program areas.

Team members have engaged in a number of events, including Schaedler Yesco’s Tech School Expo in Pittsburgh, the MANTEC Smart Manufacturing Conference in York, Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center’s Manufacturing Day in Wilkes-Barre, and the Manufacturers’ Association Expo in York.

“Our outreach efforts reflect our commitment to building meaningful partnerships across Pennsylvania's industrial landscape,” said Sara Hillis Ousby, business development manager. “By engaging with organizations like Schaedler Yesco, MANTEC, NEPIRC and MASCPA, we're ensuring our workforce development programs align with industry needs. These connections are vital for maintaining our position as a premier provider of professional training and development services to nearly 5,000 participants annually.”

Schaedler Yesco Distribution is a provider for the electrical industry. With 29 locations throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York, the company offers services and solutions for lighting, data communications, automation and industrial needs.

MANTEC empowers manufacturers in southcentral Pennsylvania, and NEPIRC engages manufacturers in northeastern Pennsylvania. The centers are among seven private, not-for-profit Industrial Resource Centers located throughout the commonwealth and dedicated to preserving and strengthening Pennsylvania’s position as the eighth largest manufacturing state in the nation.

The Manufacturers’ Association, also known as MASCPA, is a regional trade organization and voice for industry in southcentral Pennsylvania and northern Maryland.

Workforce Development at Penn College serves over 600 unique companies and organizations annually in clean energy, apprenticeship, advanced manufacturing, computer skills, health care, plastics innovation, transportation and leadership training.

At the Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center’s Manufacturing Day in Wilkes-Barre, Wentzler is joined by Thomas W. Fry, industrial training specialist.
