Why should my organization connect with our local CTC?
Many employers have recognized that partnering with local career and technical schools is a smart, proactive approach to building and sustaining a skilled workforce. Chances are, you already have some connection with your local school. Through our CTC initiative, the Clean Energy Center aims to strengthen these partnerships to create a talent pipeline for the PA Weatherization industry. Our goal is simple: to help you find and recruit the skilled talent you need for long-term success.
How does my organization benefit from this program?
Access to a skilled workforce: Recruit talent with a solid understanding of the weatherization industry and entry-level skills, ready to contribute from day one.
Wage reimbursement: Receive compensation for hiring and retaining high school students through work-based learning programs.
Recruitment support: Get assistance with strategies to effectively attract and hire top talent.
What do I need to do?
Engage with your local CTC: Stay connected and collaborate closely.
Join regular planning meetings: Attend virtual sessions to discuss project implementation and progress.
Participate in advisory meetings: Be an active part of the schools Occupational Advisory Committee.
Introduce students to weatherization: Whether through your staff or coordinating contractors, provide in-class presentations or demonstrations to engage students.
Offer work-based learning opportunities:
Host facility tours for classes
Provide individual student job shadowing experiences
Hire students through cooperative education programs
Give feedback: Help us and the teachers improve by sharing what’s working and where adjustments are needed.
Commit to reporting: Participate in program reporting and surveys to ensure success.
