Three commencement ceremonies will be offered May 17-18 for the 950 students who have petitioned to graduate following the Spring 2019 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology. All of the ceremonies will be held at the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with more than 800 students expected to march.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Bachelor of Science Nursing Honor Society was officially chartered as a chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International during a ceremony on the college’s campus on April 12. Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing was founded in 1922. The founders chose its name for the Greek words storgé, tharsos and timé, meaning love, courage and honor.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors on Thursday authorized the appointment of the college’s auditing firm, viewed senior capstone presentations by two students, and heard updates on new majors and faculty promotions and sabbaticals.

Eleven graphic design seniors at Pennsylvania College of Technology will exhibit their work as part of “Graphic Design: 2019,” the annual student portfolio exhibition in The Gallery at Penn College. A public reception for the exhibit’s opening will be held Friday, May 3, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a gallery talk at 4:30 p.m. The design work will be on display April 30 through May 10.

Students from Penn College’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences and School of Sciences, Humanities & Visual Communications joined area law enforcement, emergency management and health care professionals in a recent simulation at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center and a variety of other locations.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Athletics Department welcomed its inaugural class of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society in a ceremony at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant on Wednesday morning. Inducted were 21 student-athletes (11 seniors and 10 juniors) – representing a variety of athletic teams, all six of Penn College's academic schools and a grade point average of 3.769.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has received a $1,587 grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. The funds are supporting programming and educational outreach efforts in conjunction with the exhibit “The Hundred Dresses Project: We Are All in This Together,” slated for this summer at The Gallery at Penn College.
