Penn College Dinner & Auction raises $100K for scholarships

Student development assistants helped with the coordination of a successful 2019 Dinner & Auction recently at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The recent Dinner & Auction hosted by the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation raised $100,354 for student scholarships, the second consecutive time the event has cleared the $100,000 fundraising threshold. Held every other year, the Dinner & Auction has generated a total of $686,527 spread over a dozen events held since 1994.

Penn College students in demand at Career Fair

The “tomorrow makers” of Pennsylvania College of Technology attracted 458 companies and organizations to campus for a recent two-day Fall Career Fair. The employers – including 27 Fortune 500 companies – offered nearly 4,900 job and internship opportunities to the 1,942 students who attended the event at the college’s Field House and Bardo Gymnasium.

Penn College to offer EMT course at four regional locations

An Emergency Medical Technician course, beginning the week of Jan. 13, will be offered at four area locations by Workforce Development at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The course meets National Emergency Medical Services Educational Standards and Instructional Guidelines and is intended to prepare students for National Registry cognitive and psychomotor examinations at the EMT level.

The League of American Bicyclists, the only grassroots advocacy organization for people who bike, has honored Pennsylvania College of Technology with a bronze-level award for promoting and enabling safe, accessible bicycling on campus.

Student’s internship work funds fight against pediatric cancer

Pennsylvania College of Technology student Stevie A. Petrison, of Landenberg, Chester County, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration: sport and event management concentration, helped the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation organize its fourth annual Farmapalooza, a music festival in Oxford honoring McDonough, who battled leukemia, septic shock and other complications for nearly six months before dying in July 2007 at the age of 14.

The Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering free assistance for current and future college students and their families to complete the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The college is hosting FAFSA completion sessions on its main campus to assist with the online application.
