Pennsylvania College of Technology’s first apprenticeship training program began four years ago, upskilling mechatronics technicians from companies in the Bloomsburg area. In June, 11 employees from SEKISUI KYDEX and Arconic (Kawneer) finished the four-year apprenticeship.

Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, a live learning laboratory for culinary and baking and pastry arts students at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was recognized with a “Best of Award of Excellence” as part of Wine Spectator Magazine’s 2020 Restaurant Awards program. At the Smithsonian Institution’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, Daniel Ravizza stands in a hangar full of objects that shaped aviation history. The center is the annex of the National Air and Space Museum. Ravizza helped to conserve famous aviator Charles Lindbergh’s insulated flying boots.

The Penn College women's basketball and soccer teams will host the Wildcat Dash, a virtual 5K run/walk on Wednesday, Aug. 5, as a fundraising initiative for student-athletes. Participants will receive a printable race bib and a T-shirt, and competitive racers can submit their results for a chance at medals and other prizes.

The Community Arts Center has received a $5,000 grant from the PPL Foundation toward support of its 2020-21 Educational Series. The Educational Series primarily serves nine school districts in Lycoming and Sullivan counties: East Lycoming, Jersey Shore Area, Loyalsock Township, Montgomery Area, Montoursville Area, Muncy, South Williamsport Area, Sullivan and Williamsport Area.
