The Penn College women's basketball and soccer teams will host the Wildcat Dash, a virtual 5K run/walk on Wednesday, Aug. 5, as a fundraising initiative for student-athletes. Participants will receive a printable race bib and a T-shirt, and competitive racers can submit their results for a chance at medals and other prizes.

The Community Arts Center has received a $5,000 grant from the PPL Foundation toward support of its 2020-21 Educational Series. The Educational Series primarily serves nine school districts in Lycoming and Sullivan counties: East Lycoming, Jersey Shore Area, Loyalsock Township, Montgomery Area, Montoursville Area, Muncy, South Williamsport Area, Sullivan and Williamsport Area.

It helped boost his passion for electronics. An Emergency Medical Technician course, beginning the week of Aug. 24, will be offered at three locations by Workforce Development at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The course meets the National Emergency Medical Services Educational Standards and Instructional Guidelines and is intended to prepare students for National Registry cognitive and psychomotor examinations at the EMT level.
Excellent career opportunities for licensed practical nurses exist in area hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, personal care facilities and human service organizations. Penn College at Wellsboro’s Practical Nursing Program will host information sessions for those interested in nursing as a career. Gentri, "The Gentlemen Trio" known for its tenor harmonies, has canceled its scheduled Sept. 18 Community Arts Center appearance due to COVID-19 concerns. All ticket purchases for the performance, which had been rescheduled from May 8 for the same reason, will be refunded.
