All three of the associate-degree majors offered by the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology have been granted reaccreditation through 2011. The College's Baking and Pastry Arts and Culinary Arts Technology majors were given renewed accreditation by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation.
Representatives of Penn College Health Services traveled to Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, Feb. 23, to accept a 2004 "Sponsor of the Year" award from the American Red Cross Blood Services, Northeastern Pennsylvania Region. The Gallery at Penn College on the main campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology will host "Realism With a Surreal Edge," a collection of paintings by Babette Martino, from Feb. 22 to March 25. An opening reception will take place Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with an artist's talk scheduled at 4 p.m. Both the opening and the talk are free and open to the public.
Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro will offer a variety of introductory-level computer courses beginning in March. The courses are taught by highly skilled instructors at a comfortable pace for all levels of adult learners. The small, noncredit classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m.
Lycoming Engines recently donated $40,000 worth of materials to be used by students in the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The donated materials include machining bar stock, castings and forgings.
