The Council of Eastern Forest Technician Schools will hold its 2005 annual meeting at Pennsylvania College of Technology's Schneebeli Earth Science Center next month, combining business with tours of the college's campuses and attractions throughout "Penn's Woods." The council, which represents schools offering two-year forest technology majors, will convene here from Aug. 3-6.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology alumnus has established a memorial scholarship to benefit diesel technology students at the college. Harold Sinclair, president of Woolever Brothers Transportation Inc., Montoursville, established the $1,000 annual scholarship in memory of his late wife, Hazel.

Tuition payments may be made online through Penn College's Student Information System Web site beginning with the Fall 2005 semester. Students will be required to log in to the SIS and select "View Statement of Account" in the Financial Information section in order to complete their online tuition payment. Credit cards accepted are VISA, MasterCard and Discover.

Alfred M. Thomas, an associate professor of collision repair at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently earned the professional designation of Certified Collision Repair Manager from the Masters School of Autobody Management in Santa Barbara, Calif.

In a special meeting Saturday, Pennsylvania College of Technology's Board of Directors approved an operating budget of $79,372,591 and set tuition rates for the 2005-06 academic year. The operating budget represents a 7.09-percent increase over 2004-05. Tuition for Pennsylvania residents, who constitute 91.6 percent of the college's enrollment, will rise by 5.9 percent.
