Students express themselves through floral design. The always-appealing work of students in Karen R. Ruhl's Art of Floral Design course, seasonally accented by the Valentine bear "stuffed" into the corner of the lobby, went on temporary display inside the Schneebeli Earth Science Center's main entrance on Wednesday.

Nearly 30 Penn College students, including fraternity brothers and Wildcat athletes, joined the Community Arts Center volunteer corps for comedian Bert Kreischer's Thursday performance at the historic downtown venue. Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Chef Charles R. Niedermyer recently presented two sessions for retail confectioners at the Philadelphia Candy Expo & Seminar Conference. Penn College baking & pastry arts students M.J. Harbron, of Pottstown, and Amber R. Harris, of Sciota, also participated, helping with setup and execution of each of the event’s seminars.

First Citizens Community Bank has donated $5,000 to Pennsylvania College of Technology to benefit a program enabling high school students to take courses for college credit at no cost. The Penn College Foundation is approved as an Educational Improvement Organization under the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program administered by the state Department of Community & Economic Development.

Artists working in all media and living within 100 miles of Williamsport are invited to apply for “100 Miles: The 2023 Regional Juried Exhibition,” to be displayed June 1 through July 20 at The Gallery at Penn College. The “call for entries” application and additional information are available on the gallery’s website. Deadline is Feb. 28.
