The Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation and the college's School of Hospitality teamed to present a "Happy Holidays" pastry buffet showcase on Dec. 17 to celebrate the foundation's 25th anniversary and to offer a capstone learning opportunity for baking and pastry arts students.

Two food vendors used by Penn College Food Services are right on top of some recent national food- and health-related headlines. Dean Foods recently announced that a number of its processing plants no longer will accept milk produced by cows injected with the synthetic growth hormone recombinant bovine somatropin (rBST or rBGH).

Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented student achievement awards to its December 2006 graduates. The award winners, their hometowns and academic majors are: President's Award, presented for leadership and service to the college: Samuel D. Ranck, South Williamsport, business administration-management information systems.
In commencement ceremonies Saturday at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport, Pennsylvania College of Technology presented a Distinguished Citizenship/Humanitarian Award to Dan Vilello and a Mentorship Award to Susquehanna Bancshares Inc./Edward Balderston Jr.
Children and Youth Services annually compiles a list of children from underprivileged families in Lycoming and Clinton counties that would appreciate gifts from the Penn College community. This year, Student Activitieswas given the names of more than 150 children, and the response was overwhelming.
The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors on Thursday approved Residence Life housing rates for Fiscal Year 2008. The new rates reflect an average increase of $141.50 per semester ($283 per year) over Fiscal Year 2007. The board also approved a $3-per-week increase for summer student rates, which will become $108 per week in Fiscal Year 2008.
College Information & Community Relations and the College Store are offering a number of stationery/presentation items that may be used by Penn College departments for communications that support marketing/recruitment initiatives. These items are available in the College Store at no charge or low charge (for presentation folders) while supplies last.
An internationally recognized manufacturing firm is supporting Pennsylvania College of Technology with a new scholarship fund. The Victaulic Manufacturing Professional Scholarship Fund will provide an annual award of $2,500 to a senior-level student in the manufacturing engineering technology bachelor-degree major at Penn College.
