Two culinary students from Pennsylvania College of Technology were honored at the National Restaurant Association's recent "Salute to Excellence Making a Difference" awards banquet in Chicago. Delegates from Penn College were Deborah E. Wyland, Wilkes-Barre, and Jason E. Blaski, Luzerne.
"One College Avenue," Pennsylvania College of Technology's quarterly magazine, has been recognized with an Award for Publication Excellence in a national competition among communications professionals. The publication joined APEX '99 winners selected by Communications Concepts, Inc., a trade group of marketing specialists, and was among the 631 entries in the Magazines and Journals category.

Science teachers from across the state are invited to participate in a Forestry Summer Camp at Pennsylvania College of Technology from June 21-26. Sponsored in part by the Society of American Foresters, the weeklong workshop is intended to promote environmental awareness and assist educators in developing new ideas for classroom activities.

Honoring two educators for excellence, Pennsylvania College of Technology announced its 1999 Distinguished Teaching Awards at commencement ceremonies held Saturday, May 15, in the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. The highest level of College recognition for faculty, the "Master Teacher Award," was presented to Brett A. Reasner, associate professor of aviation.
Mary Ann Johnson, Cogan Station, has earned an exceptional honor in the legal community. Johnson, a student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has successfully completed the Certified Legal Assistant examination and is now entitled to use the "CLA" professional credential. She is among 61 legal assistants in the state and 9,594 nationwide who have reached this goal.
