Pennsylvania College of Technology's Fall 2006 Arts and Lecture Series gets under way Oct. 10 with comedian Melanie Reno, who will share the compelling story of her battle with alcohol abuse while a college student. A national trade organization recently awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Burton T. Maines Jr., of Williamsport, an HVAC technology major at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Maines is among recipients in The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute's 2006 Clifford H. "Ted" Rees Jr.

Brandon S. Sisino, of Cogan Station, whose Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award was announced last spring, was among those honored in a full-page advertisement in the publication Wednesday, Sept. 20. On Page R9 of that day's editions, Sisino was listed on a "Best in Class" honor roll congratulating all of the newspaper's 2006 award winners.
