The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors on Thursday approved Residence Life housing rates for Fiscal Year 2008. The new rates reflect an average increase of $141.50 per semester ($283 per year) over Fiscal Year 2007. The board also approved a $3-per-week increase for summer student rates, which will become $108 per week in Fiscal Year 2008.

College Information & Community Relations and the College Store are offering a number of stationery/presentation items that may be used by Penn College departments for communications that support marketing/recruitment initiatives. These items are available in the College Store at no charge or low charge (for presentation folders) while supplies last.

An internationally recognized manufacturing firm is supporting Pennsylvania College of Technology with a new scholarship fund. The Victaulic Manufacturing Professional Scholarship Fund will provide an annual award of $2,500 to a senior-level student in the manufacturing engineering technology bachelor-degree major at Penn College.

A freshman in Pennsylvania College of Technology's welding and fabrication engineering technology major recently advanced to a new level of competition that will culminate at the U.S. Open Weld Trials at the SkillsUSA Championships in Kansas City, Mo., in June. Westley A. Smith, Mifflinburg, plans to become an engineer after earning a bachelor's degree from Penn College.

Students in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality donated their handiwork to raise nearly $1,200 for Williamsport/Lycoming Habitat for Humanity during its "House for a Home" chocolate house auction on Dec. 8.
