This week's "Green Tip," advice on how to "Water Properly," is provided by the Horticulture Club: Grass lawns naturally go dry during the summer season, then return to their lush state when it rains. If you must water throughout those months, do so rarely and thoroughly to encourage deep root growth, and always in the morning to prevent water loss through evaporation and transpiration.

Penn College added a welcome touch of holiday warmth to Friday night's blustery cold Holiday Parade through downtown Williamsport. Students carried character balloons in their adopted College Town, the Wildcat Dance Team performed, and adorned golf carts added some seasonal flair.

A joint initiative among businesses and schools to reinforce the principles of a strong work ethic in high school students is expanding regionally. Pennsylvania College of Technology's Outreach for K-12 Office is facilitating the expanded program, recruiting businesses to lend their endorsement to the project.
Class of 2009 radiography students Kate Anton, of Julian; Ann-Denise Reed, of Montandon; Aleah N. McNeal, of Williamstown; and Alyson J. Kern, of Mapleton Depot, were selected to compete in the Radiography Technibowl, a competition against other radiography students from across the state, at the Hershey Medical Center on Nov. 11.
