Pennsylvania College of Technology has hired a project director for ShaleNET U.S., a federally funded consortium initiative that develops and standardizes credit and noncredit education and training programs serving high-demand occupations in the oil and natural gas industry. Alice M. Schuster began her duties in late January.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Plastics Innovation & Resource Center has entered a three-point partnership to become the sole North American distributor of the Global Standards for Plastics Certification. The Global Standards for Plastics Certification is the only recognized method of apprenticeship certification in the world for the plastics industry.

Individuals with little bookkeeping knowledge can learn the powerful features of QuickBooks 2011, the leading accounting software for small-business owners, in two levels of noncredit instruction offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology this spring. Participants can learn to create and track accounts, generate invoices and process payments in Level I, to be held from 6 to 9 p.m.

Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering four basic computer classes this spring. Learn how to use Microsoft Publisher to create greeting cards, invitations and calendars. Create Greeting Cards Using Publisher will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 22, and again from 6 to 9 p.m. on April 30. No computer experience is necessary.

Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering 10 noncredit Adobe courses from mid-February through early May. Learn to design websites easily by attending the Introduction to Dreamweaver course from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 19 and Feb. 26.
