Eight students in Pennsylvania College of Technology's concrete science technology and residential construction technology & management majors expanded their horizons recently with a visit to World of Concrete, an international event dedicated to the concrete and masonry construction industries. The convention, held annually in Las Vegas, attracted 60,000 attendees to its 700,000 square feet of exhibit space and was featured on CBS "Sunday Morning" on Feb. 11.

Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 15, for Lyman “Bub” Milroy, a longtime member of the mathematics faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology and its Williamsport Area Community College predecessor.

Automation students at Pennsylvania College of Technology are benefiting from a partnership with a leading innovator in the industrial software market. Inductive Automation has provided multiple licenses of its Ignition software for use at the college. Ignition is a platform for quickly building and developing industrial applications, including SCADA, HMI and IIoT. The value of the donation is over $750,000.

Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member Chip D. Baumgardner recently attended an Innovation Engineering Summit at Eureka! Ranch, an innovation think tank and training company. Baumgardner, an associate professor of business administration/management, was among 30 guests invited to the summit.

The Dunham Children’s Learning Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology received a $6,000 Keystone Stars Continuous Quality Improvement Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through STEP Inc.

A dedicated group of Pennsylvania College of Technology students demonstrated their passion for engineering by attending the IEEE Region 1 & Region 2 Student Activities Conference at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. IEEE is a professional association for electronics engineering, electrical engineering and related disciplines.

A large crowd of art lovers turned out Tuesday night for a reception and artist's talk, celebrating The Gallery at Penn College's exhibit, "Found: The Sculpture of Randall Cleaver." The artist, a Penn State graduate and Maryland resident, received a warm welcome from campus and community members.

Laughter and suspense will fill Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Klump Academic Center Auditorium this coming weekend when Penn College Theatrics stages the classic play, “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Admission is free to the performances set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, and 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4.
