Unfazed by the forecast and undeterred as they explored the fall bounty of Penn College, Open House guests hit the ground early to get all their questions answered before then-Hurricane Sandy could put a damper on their mission.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s School of Hospitality will host “An Evening of Pennsylvania Food, Beer and Wine” on Nov. 14, offering opportunities to learn more about the pairing of fine beer and wine with food and to benefit the Peter Hellermann Scholarship Fund. Scheduled at 6:30 p.m.

Penn College faculty – many joined by their students – offered close to 50 hands-on workshops, demonstrations and tours to high schoolers who visited campus Friday for Career Day. The event is facilitated twice a year,  in October for students in grades 9-12 and in May for students in grades 7-9, by the college’s Outreach for K-12 Office.

Tuesday's Career Fair provided Penn College students and alumni the opportunity to meet hundreds of prospective employers – including Fortune 500 companies –  recruiting for 2,244 full-time jobs, internships and other positions.

From stage level, a front row of hospitality students is an easy target of questioning. An instructor in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality treated members of his lecture audience to chocolate Monday, then entreated them to find harmony between passion and the quest for excellence.

Befitting the themed focus on campus leaders − those from earlier days and those who continue their student mentorship as employees and graduates − Penn College Homecoming 2012 was one to remember.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer an Open House on Sunday, Oct. 28, affording prospective students and their families the opportunity to explore the college’s diverse academic programs, participate in a range of activities and tour the modern campus, including classrooms, labs, residence halls and dining facilities. Open House activities will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wolff talks to a large crowd of students, employees and community visitors. Art takes flight in The Gallery at Penn College. Wolfson Ray partners with nature, intricately weaving twigs and such into art. With two of her works on the wall behind her, Wolfson Ray enthusiastically addresses the crowd. Gallery doors open onto a uniquely "natural" environment.
