Five Pennsylvania College of Technology students received financial assistance through the Allan Myers Corporate Scholars Program, just one of the ways the mid-Atlantic’s largest heavy civil contracting firm encourages the institution’s tomorrow makers.

Naming of the Allan Myers Field Site within Pennsylvania College of Technology’s designated area for heavy equipment and diesel instruction – a 125-acre “sandbox” where students can learn and safely practice the hands-on skills necessary for workplace proficiency – amplifies the company’s 30-year record of encouraging students and hiring graduates.

Allan Myers, the Mid-Atlantic’s largest heavy civil contractor and a valued Pennsylvania College of Technology Corporate Tomorrow Maker, has pledged $250,000 to expand its support of students and programs at the college.

Allan Myers Inc., a heavy civil construction and construction materials company operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, will contribute an additional $50,000 annually to a scholarship it established previously at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Preference for the Allan Myers Scholarship is given to full-time Penn College students who are employees/family members of Allan Myers Inc.

On the surface, the three men have little in common. One looks like a vibrant, distinguished grandfather with his neatly trimmed white goatee and confident gait. The second could pass for a lead singer in a rock band with his lip and nose rings, faded T-shirt and long hair. The third appears to be a budding executive with his coiffed hair and button-down shirt complemented by a perfect smile.
