It's never too early to begin exploring career possibilities for children, and parents of middle-school students will enjoy a unique opportunity when Pennsylvania College of Technology offers a "Parent Career Fair" on Oct. 21. The event, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
On the last day of the regular season Tuesday, the Penn College men's soccer team beat Harrisburg Area Community College while Northampton Community College beat Penn State Hazleton. That put Penn College into the playoff driver's seat as the top seed. The Wildcats will host fourth-seeded Harrisburg at 1 p.m.
A total of 178 pints of blood was donated at last week's Red Cross Bloodmobile, less than the 200-pint goal but still a good job by the Penn College community for a great cause. Sixty prospective donors were declared ineligible for a variety of reasons and were deferred to later visits; 38 of the donors were first-timers!
Five students and a faculty member from the Tsuyama (Japan) National College of Technology visited Penn College from Oct. 10-16, participating in a variety of educational and social/cultural activities during their stay. At right, the group poses with Christine A.
More than 70 employers have registered for Fall Career Expo, a major networking event for job-seeking students, scheduled for 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21,at the Field House. Confidence can make or break a team, and, after struggling for much of the season, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team heads into Wednesday's Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association playoff at 5 p.m. at Penn State Abington finally playing up to its potential.
Chef Joseph Poon, owner of Joseph Poon Asian Fusion Restaurant, will prepare the Distinguished Visiting Chef Series Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The dinner, which costs $125 per guest, will begin at 7 p.m. at the College's Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. Net proceeds will be used for annual scholarship awards and endowed scholarship funds.
The Autodesk Authorized Training Center offered by Workforce Development& Continuing Education at Penn College has been honored with several awards for 2003. There are 127 Autodesk Authorized Training Centers throughout the United States, and student evaluations from every class in every ATC are summarized and evaluated by Autodesk in determining the award recipients.
