
The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s lacrosse team had a record-setting win this past week, while in other action, the women’s softball team went 2-2 in the United East.
Men’s Lacrosse
Playing first-time opponent Elmira College on Saturday, the Wildcats posted their largest margin of victory in program history with a 28-1 win. The 27-goal win differential bettered the previous mark of 26 in a shutout win over La Roche in 2023. Keying the rout were Roman DeCenzo of Red Bank, New Jersey, with six goals; Elliot Dotson of Wilmington, Delaware, with four goals and four assists; and Jake Small of Bloomsbury, New Jersey, with a hat trick and four assists.
At Kean on Wednesday, Owen Kupsey of Chadds Ford scored four goals and Will Ehret of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, had a hat trick and an assist in an 18-8 nonconference loss.
Also, this past week, Elliot Dotson was named the UE Men's Offensive Player of the Week after he led the Wildcats with nine points in a 20-4 conference victory against Rosemont on April 5.

Softball
At Cedar Crest College on Tuesday in UE action, Penn College split, winning 9-1 and losing 5-3. In the opener, Mackenzie Weaver of Montoursville spun a three-hitter, fanning seven, while Ryleigh Rinker of Poway, California, had two hits and drove in three runs, and Sofia LaSpina of Bellmore, New York, smashed a two-run homer. In the nightcap, Cedar Crest took advantage of Penn College miscues to score four runs in the third inning and the Wildcats couldn’t come back. Pitcher Mackenzi Tice of Mansfield struck out 12 in taking the loss.
On Sunday, hosting then conference co-leader Penn State Brandywine, the teams split, with Penn College taking the opener 4-1 and Brandywine winning the nightcap 7-2. A three-run fourth inning propelled the Wildcats in the first game, one on a double by Grace Lorson of Jersey Shore, who ended the game with two hits and two RBIs, and Weaver fanned seven to win her 12th game of the year. In the second contest, the Wildcats were limited to single runs in the first and seventh innings, and Fayth Anderson of Lykens took the mound loss.

At first-time foe Keystone College in UE play on Wednesday, the Wildcats were swept, losing the first game 7-3 and the second 6-3. Keystone built a 5-1 lead through six innings in the first game and each team scored two the rest of the way. Dallas Griess of Williamsport had two hits and scored two runs. In the second contest, Keystone again grabbed the early lead and again held on.

Men’s Golf
Penn College finished fifth in a 13-team field as the two-day Moselem Cup at Moselem Springs Golf Club in Fleetwood concluded on a windy and chilly Tuesday. The Wildcats, who were seventh after Monday’s rainy first-round 313, totaled 318 in their second round on the par 70, 6,475-yard course, for a 631 total, one stroke out of tying for third. Peyton Mussina of Montoursville led the team with rounds of 76-76—152 and tied for seventh in a field of 69 individuals.

On Wednesday, in a home UE match against Penn State Harrisburg, the Wildcats lost 7-0, with John Finnegan of Hughesville at No. 3 singles, Hunter Knosky of Camp Hill at No. 6 singles, and Logan Ogden of South Williamsport-Kyle Shuler of Williamsport at No. 2 doubles in the most competitive matches.
At Penn State Abington in the UE on Sunday, the Wildcats lost 5-2. Penn College winners were Alex Norris of Williamsport at No. 3 singles, and in doubles, Shuler-Ogden at No. 2, and Seth Priestman of Bloomsburg-Matt Williams of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, at No. 3.
