When Eric Anstadt was a Penn College electrical student, he led a successful study group for other students. Faculty took notice, and years later, when a teaching position came open, Anstadt was encouraged to apply. Since then, the assistant professor has brought his electrifying passion to every class, lab and Open House tour.

“We give great tours,” Anstadt said in “Electrical Ambassador & Klein Tools Collector,” the latest episode of the Tomorrow Makers podcast. “The best thing I can tell you is – come to campus. It is a wonderful atmosphere. It's a very welcoming place here on the campus. ... There is a stark contrast between our labs and our competitors' labs. You look at the level of technology in Penn College's labs versus others, and you're going to see why we are No. 1 in innovation.” (That last mention refers to the college’s standings in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges rankings.)

Anstadt shares his path to Penn College, his excitement over the recent renovations in the Electrical Technologies Center and his impressive collection of Klein Tools (more than 800 pieces and counting in his “Klein shrine” – with some dating to the late 1800s).

“In today's climate, the trades are in demand,” he relayed, noting the endless options extending from his major, including electrical construction, electrical technology, mechatronics, building automation and residential construction management.

Be sure to listen for Anstadt’s “golden ticket” information and solid career advice.
