The Dunham Children's Learning Center at Penn College celebrated the March 2 birthday of Dr. Seuss and its corresponding Read Across America Day – an annual, national celebration that typically extends for one wonderful week.
"Dr. Seuss Week is celebrated to encourage reading and educate people about its benefits, celebrate the legacy of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss, and inspire more children to read," said Linda A. Reichert, center director. "We had some guest readers come to the classrooms to read last week, and it gave the children an exciting event to look forward to, while promoting what it means to adults to read children's books with excitement."
The CLC serves children of students and employees while their parents attend classes or work. The center features five age-specific classrooms (with delightful names): Bees, Bunnies, Bears, Birds and Butterflies.
